How we work: Terms and Conditions
We use the standard BMA locum contract as a template.

As an overview of how we work:

OxDocs is a registered trademark for our limited company Oxford Health and Medical Ltd. Our invoice may refer to either of these names.

We work to BMA safe-working limits (12 contacts per session for routine presentations, with a mixture of telephone calls and F2Fs). We provide a template surgery for you. But we can discuss your individual needs ahead of time if you want a different layout.

We have clinical negligence and professional indemnity cover for work outside of CNSGP through MPS.

Home visits can be done, by prior written agreement. We do not charge mileage. We provide our own car for homevisits (fully insured for business use).

We provide our own equipment.

We will endeavour to provide you with a locum who is familiar with your electronic patient recrds software. Between us we are familiar with EMIS, SystemOne, and MedBase.

Dates and times are by prior written agreement.

Full working days (2 sessions) preferred and it is our usual practice to offer a block daily price for the work we do. We can negotiate individual sessions ahead of time if that is more to your needs. An hourly rate can be discussed a head of time in writing, if needs be.

We cover our own admin. We can cover the workflow of doctors you may have off, by prior written agreement.

If something goes wrong which we have been involved in, we will participate in responding to complaints and engaging in learning event analyses - as is our professional duty - and at no extra cost to you.

As is the case with most GPs, we are autonomous medical practitioners. But we work sensitively to local pathways and formularies.

We do not accept restrcitve covenants; we maintain the right to work for other practcies.

If you want us to work across a range of sites (such as across a PCN or branch surgeries), we can consider this by prior written discussion and agreement.

You are under no obligation to offer any Engagement to us and we are under no obligation to accept any Engagement.

If the locum we have provided cannot make a contracted engagement with you, we will endeavour to provide a replacement (subject to availability). We will let you know as soon as is reasonably possible if this is the case. We do not charge you for sessions we find we are unable to meet. (We pride ourselves in being reliable, and our sickness record is near zero).

Invoicing: Payment for work done is due weekly. The (client/customer) shall be liable to pay all costs, fees, disbursements, and charges including legal fees and costs reasonably incurred by Oxford Health & Medical in the recovery of any unpaid invoices regardless of the value of the claim. Reminder invoices may incur a late payment charge of £40 for invoices less than £1000 and £70 for invoices greater than £1000. Statutory interest may also apply as per the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
